Every photographer, regardless of their equipment or era, faces the same two fundamental decisions: where to point the lens and when to press the shutter. I search for places and subjects of strong personal meaning and try to capture them in the moment at which they express that meaning most clearly.
My places of meaning include the empty glens of the Scottish Highlands – at least three generations of my ancestors lived on Skye – and the mountain regions of Europe.
I teach professional practice on BA (Hons) Commercial Photography at The University of Derby.
The photos I'm showing here are organised into three galleries.
