Effective Networking and Communication Skills

Do you cringe at the thought of networking events? Cower in the corner? Or get stuck for conversation? Do you meet lots of new people at networking events but never seem to generate any leads or sales?

This interactive workshop is designed aims to untangle some of the fears, and misconceptions that sometimes surround the concept of ‘networking’ and to offer practical content and exercises that will help you to use networking in a positive way to develop your business.

Creative Business Mentor David James Ross will be leading the workshop. David has extensive experience working with creative business startups and has overcome his own doubts and fears about networking to make it his primary means of generating new business.

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to:

  • Define what ‘networking’ means and how it can contribute to your business
  • Know how to identify and generate your own business leads from networking
  • Put into practice some ways of expanding your network and broaden your circle of contacts
  • Identify and evaluate networking events and opportunities
  • Practice skills used by other professionals to get people talking, create rapport and communicate in ways people enjoy
  • Develop tools to organise your networking
